The image shows two men. The man on the left is seated on a chair with a wooden backrest, holding an object and looking up towards the other man. He has a neatly styled mustache and short, slicked-back hair. He is dressed in a dark coat with light-colored trousers and holds a bowler hat in his lap. The other man stands beside a round table covered with a patterned cloth, looking down at the seated man. He has a similar mustache and neatly combed hair. He is wearing a matching dark suit with a bow tie and a white pocket square. In the foreground, next to the seated man, is a large camera or a similar box-shaped device. The background is plain and features a partial view of a tasseled drapery on the left side of the image.
