The etching depicts a view from a raised perspective overlooking a river flowing from left to right. In the distance, a town with buildings surrounded by trees is visible. Tall trees line a path along the riverbank on the left, with their branches across the upper area of the image. The etching shows detailed lines and cross-hatching to convey texture and depth in the foliage and water. The color scheme is monochromatic, using different shades of black and grey to create contrast and a serene atmosphere. A small boat can be seen drifting on the river in the distance.
