Artist, French, 1827 - 1886

The image is an etching of a harbor. The horizon is in the upper third of the image, with buildings and boats along it. Several sailboats are anchored along the shore, some with sails down and some partially up. The style uses fine lines to outline sky, water, and land with shading for depth. The color scheme is black on a cream background. Buildings and trees are visible in the distance. Soft cloud formations are suggested in the sky.
