The image shows a man sitting on the edge of a container filled with cotton. He has one leg bent and resting on the container while the other leg hangs down. The man wears a headwrap, a shirt with rolled-up sleeves, and an apron-like garment. In the background, there is a wooden building, with another person faintly visible through a window. An animal, likely a mule, is partially visible in the lower left corner.
