The image displays a swamp with tall, bare cypress trees towering over the still water, reflecting the trees. Vertical lines of the trees draw the eye upwards into the dense canopy. The sepia-toned image shows a muted color palette with browns and blacks dominating the scene. Closest to us, smaller plants and foliage are visible, contrasting with the smooth water's surface. In the background, the density of the trees suggests a deep, expansive forest.
