Artist, Dutch, 1860 - 1923

The image shows a woman depicted from her head to her mid-calves, engaged in a bending position. Her head is turned downward, and her long dark hair is tied back, with a few strands blowing across her face. She is wearing a long-sleeved dress that appears to be made of a dark, heavy fabric. She is holding a basket with her right hand and a sack in her left, which is placed on the ground. Her shoes are visible, appearing as light-colored clogs. The background consists of an open field with a building or structure faintly visible on the horizon, under an overcast sky.
