This image shows a portrait of a middle-aged man from the chest up. He is facing slightly to the right, looking off into the distance. His facial features are defined, with prominent cheekbones and deep-set eyes. His hair is combed back and is dark with some lighter areas. He is dressed in formal clothing, wearing a dark coat and a white shirt with a high collar underneath. Around his neck is a cravat or necktie tied in a bow. The portrait is bordered by a golden oval frame within a rectangular case, and the background is plain and dark.
