This grayscale photograph is a portrait of two people, visible from the knees up. They both have pale skin and dark hair. A man is seated on the left, facing forward. He has pale skin and short, dark hair styled into a curl on top of his head. He is wearing a dark suit with a white shirt and a black collar. A woman is seated on the right. Her hair is parted in the middle and styled into bunches above her ears. She is wearing a dark dress with a checkered pattern around the collar and white cuffs. She holds a small book in her hands. The backdrop is plain and dark. The photograph is enclosed in a gold frame with some dark specks and discolorations. Around that frame is a dark wooden frame with some red trim.
