This painting shows a hand holding an ornate fan. The fan is gray with dotted decorations along the edges and floral patterns with green leaves and red flowers on the left. The folds of the fan look like deep grooves. The hand is pale orange, and the fingers are slightly spread. The wrist of the hand is attached to what looks like a flat white base. The background of the painting is light beige paper.
