The image displays four individuals in varying poses. One person is standing in profile, holding a baby, dressed in a long garment and headscarf. Another person is seated, also holding a baby, wearing similar attire. Two others are partially visible, one seated or reclining with a headscarf, and the other peering from behind the standing figure. The background is rustic, with a ladder against a rough wall and indistinct structures. The illustration is in earthy tones, with the title "Les Nourrices" at the bottom.
