The image shows a bearded man standing. He is facing slightly to his left, with his left leg bent at the knee and his right hand holding a key with a cross-shaped top. The man has a halo around his head. He has rugged facial features with a prominent beard and long, wavy hair falling to his shoulders. He is wearing a draped robe with layered fabric folding over his left arm and covering his entire body down to his feet. He wears sandals, and next to his left foot on the ground is a large, closed book. The background is plain with a small plant or bush depicted on the left side of the image.
