This is a painting of an outdoor social gathering at Vauxhall Gardens. The scene features formally dressed individuals congregating under trees. In the left part, there is a two-tiered pavilion with arches and balustrades, where musicians are playing. A figure is on one of the balconies watching the crowd below, who are interacting, walking, and enjoying refreshments. Lanterns hang from the trees, illuminating the garden. This is in the style of Thomas Rowlandson.
