This is a painting of two birds perched on a tree branch. The image shows two red-breasted nuthatches. One nuthatch is upside down on a vertical branch, while the other is upright on a horizontal branch. Both birds are detailed with distinct markings. The branches have textures with lichen and fungi. The painting aims for naturalistic accuracy, following the style of John James Audubon.
