This is a painting of two birds identified as the "King Plover, Charadrius Semipalmatus." One bird is standing on the right, displaying rich brown and white plumage with a black band across its chest. The other bird on the left appears to be focused downward, with its beak close to the ground, possibly searching for food among the rocks. The setting features grasses and water in the background, bordered by distant hills under a serene sky. This is in the style of John James Audubon.
