This is a pastel drawing of an older man depicted in a head-and-shoulders view. He is facing slightly to his left with his upper body turned towards the viewer. The man has deep-set eyes, a prominent nose, and thin lips. His hair is styled in 18th-century fashion with white, tight curls pulled back with a ribbon. He is wearing a dark coat over a high-collared white shirt and a circular pin on the left side of his coat. The background is plain with light shading around the figure.
