German 15th Century

Associated Names
This is a painting of a religious scene with a floral border. The central figure is in the foreground wearing a red and green robe and a halo. Surrounding this figure are angelic beings with large wings and red and green garments. Above the scene, another figure reclines on a cloud holding two scepters. The background features a mountainous landscape to the left and a distant castle or town to the right. The entire composition is enclosed by a border of roses. The image uses a palette of earthy tones with touches of red and green. This style resembles a medieval illumination or woodcut, possibly inspired by Northern European artists like Albrecht Dürer.
