The image is a portrait of a woman's upper body. She is in a slightly angled forward-facing stance, holding a large feathered fan in her right hand close to her chest. Her features include soft eyes, a straight nose, and a subtle mouth. She has soft curls framing her face, adorned with a headband. The woman wears an elaborately detailed period dress with a high, frilled lace collar, puffed sleeves with lace and embroidered patterns. She wears visible earrings. The background has a textured pattern of fine lines, contrasting with the detailed depiction of the woman. An inscription at the bottom introduces her as "The Lady Katherin, Marchioness of Buckingham."
