The image shows an engraving of a man from the waist up, in front of an architectural backdrop. The man is standing and facing forward, holding a large book in his left hand while his right hand rests on the top of a sizable ornamental letter "B." He has a long, pointed beard and thinning hair on the top of his head, which is neatly combed back. His outfit is elaborate, featuring a high-collared, fur-trimmed coat over an ornately patterned robe. Behind him, the background consists of a detailed, arch-like architectural setting with columns and ornate carvings.
