The image shows a portrait of a man from the chest up, in a three-quarter view facing left. He has curly, short hair, a beard, and a mustache. His facial expression is calm, looking directly at the viewer. He wears a garment typical of the Renaissance era with a high collar. The background is an oval frame with dense crosshatching. Inscriptions in Latin mention "Henricus Goltzius." The bottom of the print includes additional writing.
