The image shows a man depicted from the waist up, facing slightly to the right while looking directly at the viewer. His head is turned to the side with a serious expression, and he has a prominent, orderly beard along with short hair that is closely cropped around the sides. The man is dressed in armor, which includes a detailed cuirass that covers his torso. He is holding a rod or baton in his left hand, with his fingers loosely wrapped around it. A chain is draped over his shoulder, and an earring can be seen in his left ear. In the background, there is an engraved border with some text above and below the portrait. The area surrounding the man is plain.
