The image is a monochromatic portrait engraving of an older man. He is seated facing slightly left, holding a round cane or staff with both hands. The man has a round face with defined features, deep-set eyes, a prominent nose, and thin lips. He has short, neatly cropped hair, facial stubble, and wears a long, dark robe over a high-collared shirt. The background contains circular motifs with religious insignias, and there are inscriptions in Latin at the top and bottom of the image identifying the subject and artist.
