The image shows a detailed portrait engraving an older man. The man has a full beard and a receding hairline. He is looking slightly to his left with a serious expression. He is wearing a formal garment with a fur collar and an elaborate ruff. The image is framed by an elliptical border with an inscription that reads, "THOMAE SUTTON ARMIGER FUNDATOR HOSPITALIS REGIS." In the background are intricate line engravings adding texture to the image. The paper appears aged with text visible on both sides.
