The illustration shows the upper half of a mature man's body. He is positioned facing slightly to the left while looking directly at the viewer. The man has a prominent forehead, deep-set eyes, and a heavy beard and mustache. His hair is curly and receding. He wears a high-collared jacket with decorative buttons and holds a small branch or sprig of leaves in his right hand. Surrounding him is an elaborate border with classical architectural elements and cherubs holding cornucopias filled with fruit. The background displays detailed architectural engravings and Latin text inscriptions, including a name and date.
