The man is positioned with his right hand raised towards his chest and his left hand partially visible at the bottom of the image. His face is detailed with a mustache and a small beard on the chin, and he has a receding hairline with light hair combed back, partly covered by a cap. He wears a pleated ruff around his neck and a long-sleeved garment that appears to be a robe or cassock, detailed with texture resembling fabric. The background consists of densely lined shading, which frames the upper body and head, with engraved text beneath the image. The text reads, "GULL: QUONDAM ARCH: CANT:" followed by verses below.
