The image is an engraved portrait of a man. He is shown from the upper body up, facing slightly to his left with calm expression. He has a neatly trimmed mustache and beard, curly medium-length hair, and is wearing period attire indicating nobility, possibly armor with a sash. The background is a simple pattern with an oval frame and text. The image is set on aged paper with an inscription at the bottom stating: "The Right Honourable Robert Rich, Earle of Warwike and Lord Rich of Leez, Admiral & Commander in Cheife of the sea Fleete."
