Artist, Dutch, 1631/1632 - 1664

A person is shown from the shoulders up, leaning through a window opening with one arm resting on the windowsill. The facial features are shadowed, with deep-set eyes and a serious expression. The person is wearing a hooded garment that covers most of the head and drapes over the shoulders. Wooden beams form the window frame and a closed wooden shutter is visible on one side. There is no visible jewelry, and the background is a dark space that contrasts with the lighter tones of the person's attire and the window’s materials.
