The image features two main figures within an intricately detailed architectural framework. The figure on the left is seated on a throne-like chair, depicted from head to toe. This person has delicate facial features, long, flowing hair partially covered by a light veil, and a halo. They are dressed in long, layered garments, holding a standing infant with a halo in their lap. The child is partially nude, holding a round object. To the right of the woman, another figure, dressed in a long robe with a hood, is kneeling. This person is depicted in profile, with a halo and a staff. An open book with a detailed design lies in front of him. The backdrop includes a large archway with carvings, cherubs, and a landscape with trees, a path, buildings, and mountains under a clear sky.
