Possibly (Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler [1884-1979], Paris).[1] Raoul Pellequer, Paris; (his sale, Hôtel Drouot, Paris, 29 October 1927, no. 134); purchased by (Etienne Bignou, Paris) for Chester Dale [1882-1962], New York; bequest 1963 to NGA.
[1] The contents of the Kahnweiler Gallery were sequestered by the French government and sold in four sales: 13 June 1921, 17 November 1921, 4 July 1922, and 7 May 1923. Several Still Life paintings by Vlaminck were included in these sales; of them, only one matches in both dimensions and inscription: no. 194 in the sale from 7 May 1923.
