Artist, French, 1792 - 1845

This is a drawing of a battle scene. It shows soldiers armed with spears and banners, accompanied by cavalry units on horseback. The foreground includes fallen figures and a cannon wheel on the ground. The left side of the drawing shows ranks of troops. The background is a wide landscape under a cloudy sky. The overall composition and use of shadows highlight the tension and movement within the conflict.
