Artist, German, 1893 - 1963

This painting shows a clear glass vase containing a bouquet of various flowers in shades of white, light pink, and blue. Surrounding these flowers are green stems and leaves. The vase is centered in the composition, with the flowers extending upwards and slightly outwards, filling most of the upper half of the painting. The surface the vase rests on is a pale blue color, and the wall behind it is gray with hints of dark green. The brushstrokes in the painting are thick and visible, and the colors blend and overlap with one another.”
