Domenico Beccafumi

Associated Names
Domenico Beccafumi

Artist, Sienese, c. 1485 - 1551

The image features two individuals shown from mid-torso up. The person in the foreground is seated and turned slightly away from the viewer, revealing the back and profile of their head. This person leans forward, extending their right arm in a gesturing pose towards the other figure. Both individuals have curly hair and bearded profiles. Their clothing is draped and sketchy in style. The background is textured with hints of cross-hatching, and the scene is rendered in a sketch-like, sepia-toned drawing style. Written text at the bottom attributes the work to Sebastiano Mazzoni Fiorentino.
