The image shows a pastoral scene with a wide view of the area. The horizon is in the upper third of the image, with thatched-roof cottages, a spired church, and various trees along it. The scene is detailed with precise lines and a black and white palette for contrast and shadows. In the foreground, two women are walking, a dog is running, and a horse rider is present. In the distance, trees and buildings populate the landscape, creating a village setting.
