Artist, Dutch, probably 1628 - probably 1699

The view is from a slightly elevated position, looking across a landscape with a body of water. The horizon is relatively high in the image, drawing the eye to a cluster of trees. The brushstrokes, or etching lines, are intricately detailed, with a precise hand evident in the depiction of tree foliage and reflections on the water. The color palette consists of soft sepia tones. Closest to us, a gentle slope leads down to the water, and trees frame the scene. The background reveals more trees and a sky, enhancing the depth of the composition.
