The horizon line is relatively low in the composition. A castle-like structure is visible on a distant hill. The brushstrokes in the etching are intricate and detailed, with fine lines outlining trees, rocks, and the castle. The color palette is monochromatic, using shades of black and gray. Two figures walk along a path near a large tree and rocky outcrop. A small boat with a single occupant is on a narrow waterway. Dense clusters of trees fill the landscape, leading to a hilly region in the distance where the castle stands. The sky is open with a few softly rendered clouds.
