This drawing features a religious scene with a large cross and multiple figures. Some figures are surrounding the cross, while one figure is climbing it with a ladder. Other figures at the base of the cross are handling a body in a reverent or mournful manner. The expressions and gestures of the figures convey a sense of collective sorrow. The artwork is done in sepia tones with a style reminiscent of 'Jacopo da Pontormo' or another Mannerist artist, featuring elongated forms and expressive postures.
