The image shows a rocky shoreline with a figure resting close to us, sheltered under a small overhang with vegetation. A calm lake extends out towards rolling hills and distant mountains on the horizon, around the upper third of the image. The sky meets the land with clouds filling the upper portion, casting light and shadow on the mountains and water. The artwork is executed in a lithographic style, with detailed rocks and foliage. The color palette is monochromatic, focusing on shades of gray for shadow and light. A small boat with sails is on the lake, adding scale and tranquility to the scene.
