The etching depicts a ruined abbey viewed from a slightly lower left angle. Architectural arches stretch upwards towards the horizon line with detailed lines emphasizing stone texture and vines on the walls. The color palette is monochromatic with varying greys and blacks. Debris and an animal lie near a large tree root. Additional arches and structural remnants are seen in the distance, with clouds in the sky.
