The image depicts a seascape with boats on a calm sea, a low horizon, expansive sky with clouds, sailing ships anchored on the left, smaller boats with people closer to the viewer and further out, a distant landmass with illuminated cliffs, and fine lines typical of an engraving or etching. The color palette is monochromatic, focusing on shades of gray to create a peaceful atmosphere.
