Parmigianino

Artist, Parmese, 1503 - 1540

This is a drawing of several figures gathered around a central figure. The figures are depicted in flowing garments and attending to the central seated figure, whose posture appears despondent. They are arranged in a semicircle, showcasing a collective sense of attention and concern. Chiaroscuro is used to highlight textures and expressions on the figures' faces. Detailed lines and shading convey movement and energy, with the surroundings kept minimal to focus on the figures.
