The image shows a landscape with tall, leafless trees extending across the horizon, forming a dense woodland. The horizon is toward the upper third of the image, populated by the silhouettes of trees. The drawing is done with quick, loose pencil strokes to convey the texture of the trees and branches. The color palette is monochromatic with soft greys and blacks against the warm paper tone. There is a body of water running horizontally in the foreground, reflecting parts of the scene with some marks indicating ripples. In the background, behind the trees, there are hints of structures, possibly a fence or bridge.
