Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Kootz, New York, by 1959;[1] (Galerie Berggruen & Cie, Paris), by 1960;[2] purchased by Morton G. Neumann [d.1985], Chicago; gift 1979 to NGA.
[1] They lent the painting to an exhibition in Minneapolis in 1959.
[2] The dealer lent the painting to a touring exhibition whose first venue was in Germany in 1960.
