The image features a cow's head at the center with a draped cloth underneath bearing the text "Petrus Paulus Rubens delineavit." Above the cow's head, an owl is perched, and on either side, stacks of rectangular blocks resembling bricks are present. The color palette consists mainly of sepia tones. At the top center, crossed paintbrushes and palette knives are depicted, while on both sides, items like a painter's palette and a smoking flame can be seen. The composition appears symmetrical, with the cow's head and cloth at the center, the owl above, and the blocks flanking them on both sides, with a container overflowing with coins at the bottom.
