Cast 1972 by Franklin Mint, Philadelphia.[1] Lessing J. Rosenwald [1891-1979], Alverthorpe, Jenkintown, Pennsylvania;[2] bequest 1980 to NGA.
[1] This cast is number 78 out of 1,000.
[2] A note in NGA curatorial files in the hand of Edith Rosenwald (Mrs. Lessing Rosenwald) reads "Given me by Seymour Adelman." Seymour Adelman was involved with the restoration of the Thomas Eakins house and studio.
