The image includes four figures: three seated and one standing. The standing figure is a man in a military uniform with a bicorne hat. His face is partially covered but his nose and chin are visible. He is looking at something in his hand. The seated group consists of an old man holding a crutch, a boy, and another youth. The old man has long side hair and the boy has short hair. Another youth with short hair is seated on the ground. The old man gently holds the boy's hand. A hat is on the ground near the seated figures. The background shows a brick wall with climbing plants, set in a leafy environment.
