Remarks
The dates for this photograph and Key Set numbers 1435, 1436, and 1437 are based on the blanket wrapped around O’Keeffe’s shoulders, which she most likely got in New Mexico in 1931 and can be seen in her paintings Thigh Bone on Black Stripe, 1931, and Cow’s Skull with Calico Roses, 1931 (Lynes 778 and 772).
