Rembrandt van Rijn

Artist, Dutch, 1606 - 1669

The image shows a person seated on a fabric-covered surface, facing slightly to the left. One arm is extended to hold onto a draped piece of cloth. The person's head is turned forward, with a calm expression, soft eyes, and a gentle smile. Their hair is styled close to the scalp. The individual is unclothed, with detailed shading defining their form and the surrounding drapery. Folds of fabric drape around them, and there are intricate etchings of foliage in the background.
