Artist, British, 1833 - 1898

The image depicts two full-body figures. On the left is a person standing upright, wearing a long, flowing garment that covers them from neck to feet, with elaborate folds and draping. Their head is adorned with a wreath, and they have a contemplative expression. Their right hand is slightly raised, with fingers pointing. To the right, there is a fully nude figure in a contrapposto stance, with one leg slightly bent and the left foot raised. This figure rests their left hand on their hip and holds a rectangular object at their side with their right hand. They have curly hair and a direct gaze. Both figures are drawn in tones of white and black chalk on a brownish-ochre paper. Behind them, there is a plain background. The initials "E.B.J." are visible on the lower right.
