Artist, French, 1805 - 1892

The image shows four figures in ornate clothing. Three are seated together, while the fourth is seated separately facing them. The figures have indistinct facial features and wear extravagant hats with feathers. They wear elaborate coats and breeches with bold red and blue patterns. Each figure wears a prominent tricorn hat and at least one holds a staff. The setting seems to be indoors with an abstract blue background suggesting a wall or draped fabric. There are hints of furniture, including a table with a decorative chess piece-like structure on it.
