The image depicts a landscape with dense foliage and trees dominating the scene. The horizon is obscured by expressive brushstrokes suggesting a tangle of branches and leaves. The brushstrokes are bold and energetic, in dark tones, creating a dramatic feel. Near the viewer, there are dark, shadowy forms, possibly tree bases. In the distance, lighter areas suggest an opening in the trees. The color palette is black and gray on a light canvas, creating stark contrast.
