See letter dated 28 August 2002 from Artemis Fine Arts, in NGA curatorial files. The drawing probably left Europe after April 1939; an export stamp on the back of the mount of this drawing is of a type in use in Austria, and possibly Germany, from April 1939 until May 1945.
